Smart File Renamer

AI-assisted file classification and standardized naming for private, repeatable document workflows.

Order for accumulated files

Smart File Renamer turns inconsistent downloads, scans, and working documents into an organized file system. It inspects content and context, proposes a classification, and applies a predictable naming convention without requiring every file to leave the local machine.

The project is intended for document-heavy workflows where names carry operational meaning: invoices, contracts, research papers, technical records, and archived correspondence.

Human-readable automation

Rules define the stable structure—dates, document types, counterparties, subjects, and sequence—while model assistance handles ambiguous source material. Every proposed change can be reviewed before it is applied, and collisions or low-confidence classifications are surfaced rather than silently resolved.

The workflow favors simple folders and durable filenames over a proprietary library, keeping the resulting archive useful with ordinary system tools.

Current direction

Development is focused on local inference, reusable naming profiles, batch review, and safe rollback for large document sets.
